Equipments in Physics Lab:

Experiments are done in Physics Labs:

PULLEY SYSTEM

To determine the weight the VR and MA of a given pulley system

REFRACTION THROUGH A GLASS

To trace the course of different rays of light through a rectangular glass slab at different angles of incidence, measure the angles of incidence, refraction and emergence. Also, measure the lateral displacement.

OPTICS (REFRACTION OF LIGHT THROUGH LENSES)

To determine the focal length of a convex lens by
(a) The distance objects method.
(b) Using a needle and a plane mirror.

REFRACTION OF LIGHT RAYS THROUGH A PRISM

To trace the path of a ray of light through a prism and show that i1+i2= ᵟ.

HEAT TRANSFER

(a)To calculate the specific heat of the material of the given calorimeter, from the temperature readings and masses of cold water, warm water and its mixture taken in the calorimeter.
(b) To determine the specific heat of a metal by the method of mixtures.

EXPERIMENTS BASED ON ELECTRICITY

(a)To verify Ohm’s law and hence find the value of an unknown resistance.
(b) To set-up a model of household wiring circuit including main wiring circuit and to study the functions switches and fuses.
